How to choose:
• Upgrading old CCTV → keep coax & BNC, add HDCVI cameras + a compatible XVR/DVR.
• Field of view → fixed 2.8 mm for wide areas; motorized varifocal for zoom-in coverage.
• Low light → look for strong IR range or full-color night with supplemental LEDs.
• Audio evidence → choose models with audio over coax.
• Power → prefer PoC to avoid extra power lines, or use 12 V DC near the camera.
• Environment → outdoor IP67; vandal-prone areas → dome/IK-rated.
Install tips: Use quality RG59/rg6 and compression BNCs; avoid tight bends. If reusing old cable, test for attenuation and replace corroded connectors. Match camera format to your recorder. Set WDR for backlit scenes, and choose surveillance-grade HDDs for recording.
