How to choose:
• Rooms & risks → hallways/entries: PIR motion; kitchens/garages: heat (not smoke); bedrooms/corridors: smoke.
• Appliances & fuel → gas boilers/heaters: CO detector; methane (NG) mount high, LPG mount low.
• Leaks → place water sensors under sinks, behind washers, near boilers.
• Windows → glass-break within rated range/line of sight.
• Pets → choose pet-immune PIR (e.g., up to 20–40 kg) or adjust sensitivity.
Install tips: Mount PIRs ~2.1–2.4 m high, angled across walk paths; avoid heaters/vents and direct sun. Ceiling-mount smoke alarms away from corners; use heat in steamy kitchens. Place CO detectors near sleeping areas and fuel-burning appliances. For gas: methane near ceiling, LPG near floor. Test monthly and replace batteries on schedule.
