Convenient control of roller shades, venetian blinds, and curtains can now be even easier than before. The SHELLY Wave Shutter LR allows for precise control of bidirectional AC motors, offering adjustment of the position of the shades and the tilt angle of the venetian blind slats. Thanks to its support for Z-Wave Long Range technology, it ensures stable communication even across large properties, while scheduling and energy consumption monitoring features help enhance user convenience and the building’s energy efficiency. These features are complemented by modern security measures, low power consumption, and quick setup, making the controller an ideal fit for any smart home. A compatible Z-Wave hub is required for the controller to operate.

Precise Control of Light and Privacy

The device provides full control over the operation of roller shades, venetian blinds, curtains, and other window coverings equipped with bidirectional AC motors. You can open and close the shading devices, set their exact position, and adjust the angle of the venetian blind slats to control the amount of light entering the room according to the time of day or your personal preferences. The controller also allows you to create automated schedules, so that your blinds can automatically adapt to your daily routine, improving comfort and privacy while helping to reduce heat buildup in rooms.

Greater range and reliable communication

The Shelly Wave Shutter LR is based on the latest Z-Wave S800 chip and supports Z-Wave Long Range technology, which maintains a stable connection over a distance exceeding 1 kilometer in a straight line. By operating in the sub-GHz band, transmission remains resistant to interference, ensuring reliable operation even in challenging conditions. The controller offers a choice between 864 MHz for Z-Wave Long Range and 868.4 MHz for the Z-Wave Plus standard. In Z-Wave Plus mode, the indoor range can reach up to 40 meters, and the device itself also acts as a signal booster. Z-Wave Long Range, on the other hand, allows for a range of up to 80 meters indoors and communicates directly with the hub without acting as a repeater.

Easy Integration with Your Smart Home

Z-Wave technology enables devices from multiple manufacturers to work together via a compatible hub, making it easy to expand your smart home system regardless of the platform you use. The controller works with all certified devices and gateways compatible with Z-Wave Plus, while Z-Wave Long Range mode requires compatible hubs and devices that support this technology. The SmartStart feature significantly simplifies setup—simply scan a code to automatically add a device to the network. OTA (over-the-air) software updates allow you to conveniently keep the controller up to date, and Security 2 encryption with the AES-128 algorithm effectively protects communication across the entire Z-Wave network.

Energy-Efficient Operation and Energy Consumption Monitoring

The device consumes up to 0.3 W of power, making it exceptionally energy-efficient. The built-in energy consumption measurement feature allows you to monitor and manage power usage in your smart home. The Shelly Wave Shutter LR is compatible with both momentary (monostable) buttons and classic bistable switches, allowing it to be easily integrated into your existing electrical installation.
