The SHELLY Wave i4 DC provides convenient, manual control of your smart home system while remaining virtually invisible once installed behind a traditional wall switch. Thanks to its support for Z-Wave Long Range technology, energy-efficient operation, and the latest-generation Z-Wave 800 chip, the device is ideal for both small apartments and large-scale installations. It’s a practical solution for those who want to maintain full control over their home automation without giving up traditional switches.

One button, many automation possibilities

The device functions as an input reader and does not contain relays; therefore, it was designed to control other devices operating on the Z-Wave network. With a single button, you can manually activate or deactivate scenes, trigger complex automations, and perform synchronized actions involving multiple smart home devices. Support for four inputs allows you to use multi-button switches, and the Multi-Click feature lets you assign up to 16 different actions to various click combinations. Additionally, the device monitors the status of the inputs, providing even greater control over the operation of the entire system.

Reliable communication even in large buildings

The Shelly Wave i4 DC utilizes the latest Z-Wave 800 series and supports Z-Wave Long Range (ZWLR) technology, which ensures stable communication over distances exceeding 1 km in a straight line. You can choose to operate in the 864 MHz band for Z-Wave Long Range or the 868.4 MHz band for the Z-Wave Plus standard, tailoring the configuration to your installation. With classic Z-Wave Plus, the range is up to 40 meters indoors, and the device can act as a signal repeater. Z-Wave Long Range mode extends the indoor range to up to 80 meters and communicates directly with the gateway, making it ideal for larger homes and professional installations. Communication takes place in the sub-GHz band, which ensures a stable connection free from the typical interference found in more congested radio bands.

Quick Setup and High Security

Installing the device is extremely simple thanks to SmartStart technology, which allows you to add it to the Z-Wave network by scanning a QR code. The Shelly Wave i4 DC supports Security 2 (S2) authentication and AES-128 encryption, effectively securing communication between devices on the network. An additional advantage is the ability to perform over-the-air (OTA) software updates, allowing the device to receive new features and security patches without needing to be removed.

Lightweight design and low power consumption

The compact housing is designed to be mounted under a standard wall switch, making the device completely invisible once installed. With power consumption not exceeding 0.3 W, the Shelly Wave i4 DC operates efficiently even during continuous use. The product works with all certified Z-Wave Plus devices and gateways; however, using Z-Wave Long Range technology requires a compatible gateway and devices that support the ZWLR standard.
