The Wave 1 LR uses Z-Wave Long Range technology, which was designed for installations requiring reliable communication over long distances. Under favorable conditions, the device maintains a stable connection with a compatible hub even from a distance exceeding 1 km in line of sight. This solution is ideal for large properties, farms, warehouses, or buildings with a remote garage. Unlike the classic Z-Wave Plus mesh network, ZWLR technology uses a star topology, allowing communication to take place directly with the control panel. You can also choose between two operating frequencies (864 MHz for Z-Wave Long Range and 868.4 MHz for standard Z-Wave Plus), allowing you to tailor the operation to your specific setup.

Thanks to its potential-free, dry contacts, the Shelly Wave 1 LR works with a wide range of devices that require electrical signal control. You can easily integrate it with garage door and gate openers, electric locks, lighting, or irrigation systems, and its support for both low and high voltage further increases installation flexibility. This single-channel switch supports a load of up to 16 A, making it ideal for both simple and more complex building automation systems.

Once you add the device to your Z-Wave network, you can conveniently control connected systems remotely via a compatible hub. The Wave 1 LR allows you to create schedules tailored to your daily routines, as well as automatically perform scheduled actions based on sunrise and sunset times. The device also allows you to create complex automation scenes by working with other Z-Wave devices. For example, opening the gate can automatically turn on the driveway lights, and a scheduled routine will ensure regular garden watering without the need for manual intervention.

At the heart of the device is the Z-Wave 800 Series platform, ensuring high performance, fast operation, and energy-efficient operation. The module consumes a maximum of only 0.3 W of power, allowing it to operate continuously without a noticeable impact on electricity consumption. Setup is made easy by the SmartStart feature—simply scan the QR code to begin adding the device to the system. Communication security is ensured by S2 encryption and authentication, which protect transmitted data from unauthorized access.

Please note that a compatible hub is required to configure and operate Z-Wave devices, while using the Z-Wave Long Range feature requires a hub that supports the ZWLR standard.
