Description

ELEGOO Centauri 2 3D Printer

The ELEGOO Centauri 2 3D printer is an FDM model featuring a CoreXY design, offering print speeds of up to 500 mm/s, maximum acceleration of 20,000 mm/s², and a build volume of 256 × 256 × 256 mm. The device is equipped with a nozzle that heats up to 350°C, a direct-drive Dual-Gear extruder, and a fully automatic calibration system with 121-point bed leveling. The rigid, die-cast frame enhances the stability of the entire structure, while the 5-inch touchscreen, Wi-Fi and USB connectivity, and print monitoring features simplify day-to-day operation of the device.

High-Speed Printing with the CoreXY System

The CoreXY design allows the printer to reach speeds of up to 500 mm/s, with a recommended print speed of 250 mm/s. The default acceleration of 10,000 mm/s² can be increased to a maximum of 20,000 mm/s², which helps reduce build times, especially for larger projects. The rigid, die-cast frame provides a stable base for high-speed moving components, which helps minimize the impact of vibrations on the print.

Nozzle reaching a temperature of 350°C

The Centauri 2 uses a 0.4 mm nozzle capable of operating at temperatures up to 350°C. The direct-drive Dual-Gear extruder ensures smooth and controlled filament feeding, which is also important when using flexible materials. The printer is primarily designed for 1.75 mm PLA, PETG, PLA-CF, and TPU filaments, making it suitable for creating prototypes, models, and various functional parts.

Full automatic calibration

The Full-Auto Calibration system minimizes the need for manual printer setup before starting new projects. The device uses 121-point automatic leveling to properly adjust the build plate’s position and ensure optimal conditions for the first layer. The double-sided spring steel plate features a textured PEI surface and a surface designed for PLA, allowing you to select the appropriate side for the material being used.

Build volume: 256 × 256 × 256 mm

The 256 × 256 × 256 mm build volume allows you to print both larger models and several smaller parts in a single print job. The device offers a print accuracy of ±0.1 mm and supports layer heights ranging from 0.1 to 0.4 mm, with 0.2 mm being the recommended value. This allows users to adjust project parameters based on the desired level of detail and the time required to complete the print.

Print Process Control

The Centauri 2 features a filament end sensor and a clog detection function, which allow the device to respond to specific issues related to material feeding. The printer also offers automatic filament unloading, fan self-diagnostics, and detection of malfunctions related to the print cooling fan. The power-loss resume feature is particularly useful for longer projects, as it allows you to continue an interrupted task.

Touchscreen, Wi-Fi, and User-Friendly Operation

The printer is controlled via a 5-inch color capacitive touchscreen and runs on ELEGOO OS. Projects can be transferred via Wi-Fi or USB, and for model preparation, the Centauri 2 is compatible with ElegooSlicer, Orca, and Cura, and supports the STL, OBJ, 3MF, and STEP input formats. The manufacturer also includes the accessories needed to get started and maintain the device, including maintenance tools and a nozzle-cleaning needle, which allows you to mechanically clear the nozzle if it becomes clogged.
