Specifications

Description Tiger II Königstiger - 11,170 Bricks Here comes a true giant! An absolute icon in a whole new dimension and the largest model in COBI's history, built from more than 11,000 bricks! It is huge. It is legendary. And it is truly one of a kind! This is not an ordinary model. It is a monumental feat of COBI brick engineering! Something the world has never seen before! A gigantic tribute to one of the most recognisable and feared tanks of World War II. Built from more than 11,000 carefully designed bricks, this model is a true collector's gem a dream come true for every fan of brick modelling and military history. Now you can add this giant to your collection too! Are you up for the challenge? A Tiger among models! The Panzerkampfwagen VI Ausf. B Tiger II, also known as the Königstiger, represented the pinnacle of German armoured technology in the final years of World War II. Introduced in 1944, it weighed more than 68 tonnes, was armed with an 88 mm gun and featured armour up to 180 mm thick, making it an exceptionally formidable vehicle. Although it inspired fear, it was expensive, complex and prone to mechanical failures. It became a symbol of both the power and desperation of the Third Reich. A Museum Specimen from The Tank Museum in Bovington Tiger II turret number 104 was built in July 1944 at the Henschel factory. It served with the 1st Company of SS Heavy Panzer Battalion 101, commanded by Oberscharführer Sepp Franzl. The tank was abandoned near Beauvais at the end of August 1944, reportedly after being hit by a Sherman tank from the 23rd Hussars. In 2006, the tank was transferred to The Tank Museum in Bovington from the Royal Military College of Science in Shrivenham. Why is the Tiger II Königstiger set such a rare collector's piece? Cooperation with The Tank Museum - this model was not created in isolation from history. COBI worked closely with The Tank Museum in Bovington. As a result, this model offers COBI's most historically faithful recreation of the Tiger II to date. It is a history lesson in the form of a construction masterpiece. More than 11,000 elements! - this is not only the largest Tiger model, but also one of the most complex brick sets ever created by COBI. The construction was designed to recreate not only the vehicle's exterior shape, but also its internal mechanisms and structure. It is a brick-building challenge for the most experienced builders, offering a level of satisfaction worthy of professional-scale modelling! Extraordinary realism - specially designed construction elements, the recreated three-colour camouflage characteristic of later Tiger II variants, realistic colouring based on the museum's Tiger 104, perfectly reproduced proportions and textures make the model look like a miniature version of the real tank from every angle. Realistic tracks and wheels - rotating wheels and functional tracks provide smooth movement. The running gear faithfully recreates the original, allowing the model to serve both as a display piece and as a toy for younger builders. The suspension is equipped with metal springs, allowing the entire mechanism to operate and overcome small obstacles. The model uses ABS and fibreglass-reinforced axles, which are stronger than standard axles and can easily support the weight of this colossal vehicle! No stickers - only durable prints - all graphic details, markings and tactical numbers are applied directly to the bricks using durable printing technology resistant to wear and the passage of time. This means the model not only looks fantastic when first completed, but also retains its visual quality even after years on display. Moving elements and full functionality - a rotating turret, elevating and lowering gun, functional tracked drive, fully operational suspension, opening hatches, an included MG 34 machine gun model, engine details and a recreated interior. Every moving element has been designed to reflect the real capabilities of the machine. Maybach HL-230 - the set includes a removable Maybach HL-230 engine that can be displayed alongside the tank. The engine model consists of approximately 550 bricks and could easily stand alone as a separate construction model. It can be displayed on the included presentation stand featuring a plaque with the name of the power unit. Alternatively, the engine can be installed inside the vehicle beneath the opening engine access hatch. Display Plaque - the set includes a black collector's plaque featuring the set name, model scale and key technical information about the original vehicle. A Wide Selection - the Tiger II in its impressive 1:12 scale is a true highlight of the HISTORICAL COLLECTION WWII series. The collection features numerous legendary combat vehicles from different fronts of World War II. Each set is not only an exceptional model to build, but also a fascinating history lesson and an opportunity to create your own military collection made from bricks. A Collection Fit for Royalty! COBI also offers other models in 1:12 scale. These are true collector's gems, including the Tiger II developed in cooperation with the museum in Saumur, France, the German Kübelwagen Type 82 and the iconic Jeep Willys.
