The CARLINKIT Mini Ultra 6 is a compact 4-in-1 adapter designed for cars equipped with factory-installed wired Apple CarPlay. It allows you to use Apple CarPlay and Android Auto wirelessly and also supports video streaming via AirPlay and Miracast. The adapter is compatible with iPhones starting with the iPhone 6 running iOS 10 or later, as well as smartphones running Android 11 or later, and communication is provided via Bluetooth and dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz). The compact housing, measuring approximately 29 × 29 × 27 mm, takes up little space on the dashboard, and the automatic reconnection feature eliminates the need to plug in your phone with a cable every time.

The adapter allows you to convert the factory-installed wired CarPlay connection into a wireless solution without having to replace the head unit or multimedia system. In addition to wireless use of CarPlay and Android Auto, the device also allows you to stream video from a compatible phone to the multimedia system’s screen. This lets you make better use of the car’s factory display without installing an additional screen.

Dual-Band Wi-Fi (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz)

The adapter uses dual-band WLAN connectivity, supporting both the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands. The Wi-Fi connection, together with Bluetooth, enables wireless communication between the smartphone, the adapter, and the car’s system. The use of two bands allows the device to select the appropriate connection when working with compatible equipment.

Support for Siri and Google Assistant via the car’s system

The CARLINKIT Mini Ultra 6 does not have its own voice assistant or built-in speech-recognition AI. The adapter acts as an intermediary, allowing you to use Siri or Google Assistant available on your connected smartphone while utilizing the compatible car’s factory-installed microphone. As a result, voice commands for navigation, music, or calls are processed by the phone and the corresponding CarPlay or Android Auto ecosystem, rather than directly by the adapter.

Preserves Factory Controls

Using the adapter does not require you to abandon the car manufacturer’s intended method of operating the compatible system. The Mini Ultra 6 is designed to preserve factory controls such as the touchscreen, buttons, dials, and steering wheel controls—depending on the car’s equipment and operating system. The device also works with the factory microphone, so there’s no need to install an additional microphone.

Automatic Reconnection

After the initial setup, the adapter automatically reconnects to the paired smartphone. This means that on subsequent trips, you don’t have to go through the entire pairing process or connect your phone with a cable every time. However, the time required to reconnect may vary depending on the car model, the operation of its multimedia system, and the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth modules used in the phone.
