How to choose:
• Small/home networks → Unmanaged or Smart 8–16-port GbE (fanless).
• Wi-Fi 6/6E APs & NAS → 2.5 GbE access + 10 GbE uplink.
• IP cameras/VoIP → PoE/PoE+ (budget ≥ total device draw), VLANs & IGMP Snooping.
• Offices/campuses → Managed switches with LACP, VLANs, QoS, and SFP/SFP+ fiber uplinks.
• Silence required → fanless models; AV racks → front-facing ports & controlled acoustics.

Setup tips: plan for 20–30% spare PoE budget, use LACP for NAS/uplinks, segment IoT/Guest via VLANs, and enable QoS for voice/video. For runs >100 m, use fiber SFP modules.
