SMALLRIG RC 100B 100W LED Studio Light
The SmallRig RC 100B is a compact 100 W COB LED light that offers color temperature adjustment in the range of 2700–6500 K, a high CRI of 97+, and a TLCI of 98+. At 5600 K, the light source provides an illuminance of 4,610 lx at a distance of 1 m; when used with the included 45° reflector, this value can increase to 20,100 lx. The light supports various power options, manual and wireless control, 12 lighting effects, and 4 preset parameter sets; it weighs approximately 700 g, making it well-suited for both fixed shooting setups and on-location work.
Its compact size makes it easy to use on location
The SmallRig RC 100B housing measures 115 × 95 × 95 mm, so the light takes up very little space in a gear bag. It weighs just 700 g, making it easy to transport between different recording locations and allowing you to create a more mobile lighting setup. The compact, cubic design is combined with a cooling system developed by SmallRig that aids in heat dissipation during operation.
Adjustable Color Temperature and Accurate Color Rendering
The color temperature range from 2,700 to 6,500 K allows you to achieve both warm and cooler light and makes it easier to match the light to ambient lighting conditions. A CRI of 97+ and a TLCI of 98+ ensure accurate color reproduction, which is particularly important when photographing or filming subjects that require a natural appearance of skin, clothing, or products. Additional specifications, such as an SSI of 91 at 3,200 K and TM-30 Rf/Rg values of 97/102, confirm the light source’s high-quality color rendering.
Various Power Options
The SmallRig RC 100B can be powered by V-Mount and NP-F970 batteries, among other options, making it easy to use in locations without access to a wall outlet. The lamp also supports power delivery via a USB-C port compliant with the PD 3.1 standard and is compatible with compatible power banks, battery grips, and power adapters. A 98 Wh V-Mount battery provides approximately one hour of runtime at full power, and the ability to quickly swap out the power source minimizes downtime during longer shoots.
Wireless and Manual Control
Lighting parameters can be adjusted directly on the light using a 1.3-inch LCD screen and two dials located on the side of the unit. Wireless control is also available via the SmallGoGo app, allowing you to adjust settings without having to approach the light. When connected to an optional adapter, the unit can also work with a wired DMX control system, making it easier to use the RC 100B in more complex lighting setups.
12 Effects and Quick Access to Settings
The light offers 12 built-in lighting effects, allowing you to achieve more varied lighting without the need for multiple additional devices. Users can also save 4 parameter sets and quickly recall pre-configured settings. This is useful when setting up productions with multiple scenes, as it eliminates the need to reset the same values from scratch each time.
Compatibility with SmallRig Accessories
The RC 100B is compatible with a wide range of SmallRig accessories, including the D30, D60, and 45 × 45 cm mini softboxes, a Bowens adapter, a silicone diffuser, V-Mount and NP-F970 batteries, as well as mounts and mounting hardware. This allows you to tailor the setup to the nature of your project, your power source, and the desired lighting effect. The standard kit also includes a mini reflector, a tripod adapter, a silicone diffuser, and a 3-meter USB-C to USB-C cable.
For filming, events, and on-location work
The SmallRig RC 100B is ideal for shooting at events and themed conventions, while traveling, at weddings, and during video productions. It can be used for recording interviews, documentaries, music videos, TV commercials, live streams, and content published on YouTube. The housing is made of V-0-rated flame-retardant PC+ABS plastic and reinforced with metal components at the base.
