DEPOW Portable EV Charger
The DEPOW 3.7 kW portable EV charger is a single-phase Mode 2 device designed for charging electric vehicles at home and while traveling. It offers current adjustment in the range of 6–16 A, control via an app and a touch button, as well as scheduled and delayed charging functions. The 7-meter-long cable makes it easy to connect your car even when the outlet is located some distance from your parking spot, while the control module’s IP66 rating allows the device to be used outdoors as well.
Current Adjustment: 6–16 A
The ability to adjust the current allows you to tailor the charging process to the capacity of your electrical system. Using the touch button, you can select 6 A, 8 A, 10 A, 13 A, or 16 A, while the app allows for smooth adjustment within the 6–16 A range. This helps limit the load on the electrical system when other electrical devices are in use at the same time.
App Control and Charging Scheduling
The DEPOW charger can be operated directly from the control module or via the app. The scheduling and delayed-start features let you set a convenient time to start charging, so your car can be charged according to your personal schedule. The multifunctional LED display makes it easy to monitor the device’s operation, and the three-color indicator lights provide information about power supply, ongoing charging, and any errors.
Charging Safeguards
The charger is equipped with a 30 mA Type A RCD and 6 mA DC current protection. Among other things, the device monitors for overvoltage and undervoltage, overload, continuity of the PE protective conductor, and proper relay operation. The relay contact welding detection feature can additionally block charging if an abnormality is detected.
Temperature Control
The DEPOW device monitors the temperature of the cable at the power plug and the temperature of the relay or components located inside the device. When the temperature exceeds 70°C, the charger limits the current to 6 A, reducing the load during operation. If the temperature exceeds 75°C, the charging process is stopped, which provides additional protection for the device and the electrical system.
Designed for indoor and outdoor use
The control module has an IP66 rating, making it protected against dust and powerful water jets. The charger can operate at temperatures ranging from -25°C to 50°C and is designed for both indoor and outdoor use. DEKRA certification, the compact dimensions of the control module (176 × 93 × 49 mm), and a 7-meter-long cable make the device suitable for both everyday home use and as a portable charger for travel.
