SMALLRIG Camera Cage for the Sony A6700

The SmallRig Cage Kit 4336 is a full cage designed for the Sony Alpha 6700, which protects the camera body while allowing for convenient mounting of additional accessories. The camera is secured using a 1/4"-20 screw from the bottom and an M2.5 screw on the right side, while internal washers help protect the body from scratches. The kit also includes an HDMI cable clamp, an Arca Swiss quick-release plate, and numerous mounting points that allow you to expand the camera’s functionality with accessories such as handles, a monitor, a microphone, or an LED light. The aluminum and stainless steel construction weighs only about 152 g, providing solid protection without significantly adding weight to the setup.

A more comfortable grip and stable camera mount

The cage’s design is tailored to the shape of the Sony A6700, and an additional hinged arm near the battery compartment improves hand positioning while shooting. This leaves more room for the little finger, which increases comfort when shooting and recording handheld. The two-point camera mount limits the camera’s movement inside the cage, ensuring the setup remains stable even when changing accessories or shooting styles.

HDMI Clamp for a More Secure Connection

The kit includes an HDMI cable clamp that helps protect the camera’s port and reduces the risk of the cable accidentally coming loose or becoming taut. The clamp is mounted on the left side of the cage using a knurled screw, allowing for quick installation or removal. This solution helps maintain a stable connection when using an external monitor or other devices that transmit video via HDMI. If you’re using the camera’s headphone jack, you must remove the HDMI clamp first.

Numerous mounting points for expanding the kit

The cage features 1/4"-20 threaded holes, ARRI 3/8"-16 positioning holes, cold shoes, and a NATO rail, allowing you to customize the setup to your specific workflow. This allows you to mount, among other things, a top or side handle, a monitor mount, a microphone, or an LED light. There is also a QD socket on the bottom for attaching a strap, and additional holes on the sides and bottom allow for the use of a wrist or shoulder strap. The kit also includes a magnetic Allen wrench, which facilitates the installation and removal of components.

Arca Swiss Plate and Compatibility with DJI Gimbals

The Arca Swiss quick-release plate built into the bottom of the cage makes it easy to switch between handheld photography or videography, tripod use, and using a compatible gimbal. The design is compatible with the DJI RS 2, RSC 2, RS 3, and RS 3 Pro, allowing you to reconfigure your setup more efficiently without having to remove the cage from the camera each time.
